Building on Our Commitment
Foundation
Generation after generation, families have depended upon Silver Cross Hospital to care for their loved ones. The commitment goes back to Thanksgiving Day in 1895 when the Will County Union of King’s Daughters and Sons opened the doors of a 33-bed hospital named Silver Cross. Their promise was to provide quality healthcare with compassion for the citizens of Will County. Today, a century later, Silver Cross Hospital remains true to that original commitment.
As the needs of the community grew, so did Silver Cross- both in size and stature. Services rapidly expanded, evolved and increased in complexity. The medical staff advanced superior healthcare and attracted new expertise. Over time, the campus grew to eleven buildings that have been connected with ramps and extended hallways. National prominence was achieved when Silver Cross was first recognized as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals in 2004. A commitment to excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety and patient satisfaction has been fulfilled annually, making Silver Cross the only hospital in Illinois to win the 100 Top Hospitals award for the past 6 consecutive years. A commitment to healing. A commitment to the highest quality of care and service. A commitment to build on the work of our founders. This is the story of the Silver Cross Hospital commitment.
A commitment, that with your partnership, we are determined to keep by raising $10 million to assist in funding a new state-of-the-art hospital this region needs and deserves. We invite you to join with us in spreading the word about this historic initiative. The value of people like you, engaged in bringing this to fruition – and enabling us to build on our commitment of caring and healing – cannot be measured.
Imagine having the ability to make a profound difference in the lives of your children, your grandchildren, and future generations who will rely on having quality healthcare readily available to them. Imagine having the opportunity to align your legacy with one that saves countless lives. That day is now upon us.
