Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Physician to Host Program on March 11
New Lenox, IL (February 24, 2014)— If you are one of the over 25.8 million people in the United States that have diabetes, learning to live well with the disease can be a challenge. Diabetes is a silent disease that occurs when there is too much sugar in the bloodstream, and if left untreated can harm your eyes, heart, nerves and kidneys. To avoid such harm to your body, Silver Cross Hospital is offering a free lecture on how to have good health while living with diabetes.
Dr. Ramaraja Yalavarthi, internal medicine and geriatrics physician, will present a free program on Living Well with Diabetes, on Tuesday, March 11 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, Pavilion A, Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Dr. Yalavarthi will discuss the causes, diagnosis and methods to manage this chronic disease. Ramaraja Yalavarthi, M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He participated in a psychiatry residency at Stony Brook University in New York and also an internal medicine residency at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Chicago Medical Society and two terms as President of the South Cook County Branch. In addition, he has served as a delegate for the American Medical Association and Illinois State Medical Society and also on the Board of Trustees for the India Medical Association of Illinois.
