Silver Cross Offers Support Groups in July
Joliet, IL (June 20, 2011)— Silver Cross Hospital will host a free Bipolar Disease Support Group for individuals and family members coping with bipolar disease on Tuesdays, July 12 and 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Specialty Care Pavilion lobby located on the Silver Cross Hospital campus, 1300 Copperfield Ave., Joliet. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. The group meets every Wednesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Silver Cross Hospital Rialto Room, 1200 Maple Rd., Joliet. Silver Cross Hospital and BMI Surgery will host a free bariatric surgery support group for individuals who have undergone any type of bariatric weight loss surgery Wednesday, July 27, from 5:30-9 p.m. in the hospital’s conference center, 1200 Maple Rd. Joliet. Led by a bariatric registered nurse, topics include behavior modification, clothing and recipe exchange, reconstructive surgery, lifestyle changes and relationship issues. Breast Cancer Support Group
Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health invites women facing breast cancer and their family members to a free support group Tuesday, July 26, from 7 to 9 p.m.. Topics covered are relevant to the cancer experience and offers practical help in coping with some of the emotional issues resulting from a cancer diagnosis. It is women supporting women!
