Silver Cross Offers Health Education Classes in October
Joliet, IL (September 16, 2011)— Silver Cross Hospital is offering an AHA Healthcare Provider CPR class for LPNs, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, and CNAs. This class teaches one and two person infant, child and adult CPR as well as rescue from choking. The will be held on Saturday, October 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, 1200 Maple Rd., Joliet. Cost is $60 and includes American Heart Association certification. AHA Heart Saver First Aid
Participants will learn basic first aid including how to care for cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, how to control bleeding, how to minimize the effects of shock, how to treat injuries to bones, muscles and joints: and caring for sudden illness including poison and heat and cold emergencies. This class is required for staff of day care homes and centers. Those who need CPR certification should also enroll in the AHA Heart Saver CPR. Freedom from Smoking
Silver Cross Hospital in conjunction with the American Lung Association and the Coalition Toward a Tobacco-Free Will County offers education and support to ensure that remaining smoke free will become a permanent lifestyle choice.
