Joliet, IL (December 15, 2011) — The Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission awarded the Senior Services Center of Will County with a $40,000 grant to help fund their Meals on Wheels program to help enhance the lives of area seniors.

“We are proud to work together with Senior Services to improve the quality of life for area residents, particularly those of senior citizens,” said Margie Woods, Chair of the Healthy Community Commission.

Silver Cross’s Healthy Community Commission is a not-for-profit organization of community members. The Commission is focusing on the re-development of the Silver Cross Hospital campus, education and workforce development, and to improve the quality life of the residents of Will County, particularly those on the east side of Joliet.
