BMI Surgery Relocates to New Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox
Drs. Chris Joyce and Brian Lahmann now seeing patients at I-355/Route 6
New Lenox, IL (March 7, 2012) — Board certified laparoscopic and bariatric surgeons Christopher Joyce, M.D. and Brian Lahmann, M.D. with BMI Surgery have relocated to the new Silver Cross Hospital campus at 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., Suite 260, Pavilion A, New Lenox, IL 60451. The Hospital opened on Feb. 26, 2012.
Dr. Christopher Joyce completed his medical education and surgery residency with Loyola University Medical Center where he was awarded “Intern of the Year” and “Outstanding Chief Resident.” He has served as a clinical instructor at Loyola University, Assistant Professor of Surgery as University of Chicago, and Academic Director of Surgery and Chief Academic Officer at McNeal Hospital in Berwyn. Dr. Joyce also served as the Assistant Dean for University of Chicago's Biological Science Division and Pritzker School of Medicine at McNeal Hospital.

As a Fellow of the American Society for metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Joyce specializes in weight loss and minimally invasive surgery. As the Medical Director of Silver Cross Hospital’s bariatric surgery program, Dr. Joyce performed the first open and laparoscopic gastric bypass, LAP-BAND™, REALIZE BAND™, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in Will and Grundy counties. He also founded and developed the bariatric surgery program at Silver Cross Hospital. Dr. Joyce has been recognized for several years as a “Top Doc” for outstanding patient satisfaction by Silver Cross Hospital. He currently serves as President of the Illinois Association of Bariatric Surgeons.
Dr. Brian Lahmann received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of medicine and then completed a general surgery residency at University of Kentucky where he was recognized with several awards. He also completed a laparoscopic and bariatric surgery fellowship in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Specially trained in minimally invasive surgical procedures, Dr. Lahmann is a past winner of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeon’s Laparoscopic Skills Competition, as well as the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons TOP GUN Laparoscopic Skills Competition.. He has also been consistently recognized as a “Top Doc” for outstanding patient satisfaction by Silver Cross Hospital since 2005.
BMI Surgery has performed over 2,500 surgeries including laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, and Lap-Band, and REALIZE gastric band systems at Silver Cross Hospital.
