Silver Cross Hospital and the Joliet Noon Lions Club Provided Diabetes Screenings to over 200 Area Residents

New Lenox, IL (March 26, 2015)—In recognition of the American Diabetes Association’s American Diabetes Alert Day, the Silver Cross Diabetes Center, Walgreens and Joliet Noon Lions Club offered free screenings to detect diabetes to over 200 area residents on March 24 at Silver Cross Hospital.  Participants were offered a Diabetes Risk Test and Blood Glucose Test.

Tinley Park Mom Suffers Stroke, Recovers after Life-saving Treatment at Silver Cross Hospital

New Lenox, IL (March 26, 2015)—Jennifer Arciszewski was just about to step into the shower when she fell to the floor in her Tinley Park home on Jan. 9, 2015.  She couldn’t get up or call out for help.  Fortunately, the commotion woke up Arciszewski’s 11-year old daughter Juliana who came to her rescue.  She knew something was wrong with her mom and got her older brother Jacob from his room who called 911.

Silver Cross Emergency Department Re-certified for Pediatric Care

New Lenox, IL (March 25, 2015)—Silver Cross Hospital has been re-certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) with having an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) through 2018.  This recognition formally identifies Silver Cross as a hospital that provides the necessary resources and capabilities to address the emergency needs of critically ill and injured children.

Childerguild Gives $320,000 for Silver Cross Women’s and Children’s Services

New Lenox, IL (March 15, 2015)—Recently, Childerguild presented Silver Cross Hospital with $320,000, to support the hospital’s Women and Infant Services Birthing Center and Pediatrics unit. For the past 105 years, the local charitable organization has donated more than $3.2 million to support women’s and children’s services at Silver Cross Hospital. In recent years Childerguild’s donations have been used to purchase equipment including a VeinViewer, Abaer Newborn Hearing tester and electronic fetal monitor.
