Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission Receives 2014 Outstanding Agency in Human Services Award
New Lenox, IL (April May 5, 2014)—The Community Service Council of Will County awarded the 2014 Outstanding Agency in Human Service Award to the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission at the Council’s 75th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on April 17 at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet.
Silver Cross Hospital Volunteers Honored for Service
New Lenox, IL (May 29, 2014)—Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox honored its volunteers at the annual recognition luncheon held at the Bolingbrook Golf Club on May 18. With four volunteer organizations: Advisory Board (Encore Resale Shop), Childerguild (Gift Shop) and The Will County Union of King’s Daughters and Sons (founders of Silver Cross) and Inservice volunteers, more than 700 area residents donate their time and talents to raise funds for the hospital and assist in daily operations. Over the last year, they have given 71,399 hours of service and raised over $366,433 for the Silver Cross Foundation. Silver Cross Hospital Hosts free program on improving vision on June 16
New Lenox, IL (May 29, 2014)—Has your eyesight become worse over time? Do objects appear cloudy or blurry while colors seem faded? Do you have poor night vision and does the glare from headlights, lamps, or sunlight appear too bright? Then you maybe suffering from a cataract on one or both of your eyes that is making daily activities like driving or reading more difficult. According to the National Eye Institute, by age 80, more than half of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery.
Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission provides Scholarships to the Hispanic/Latino Coalition of Will and Grundy Counties
New Lenox, IL (May 27, 2014)— The Hispanic/Latino Coalition of Will and Grundy Counties recently awarded $10,000 in scholarships from a grant through the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission.
