Silver Cross Recognizes “Top Docs” for Outstanding Patient Satisfaction

24 Physicians Rank in the top 1% of hospitals nationwide 

New Lenox, IL (August 8, 2012)-- Silver Cross recently recognized 24 physicians on the hospital’s medical staff for outstanding patient satisfaction from April 2011- through March 2012.

Silver Cross Hospital Honors 500 Club Volunteers

New Lenox, IL (August 7, 2012)—At a recent luncheon Silver Cross Hospital honored members of the 500 Club Volunteers who graciously donated 500 or more hours of their time in a 12 month period by working in various departments within Silver Cross Hospital.

Silver Cross Offers Support Groups in August

New Lenox, IL (July 20, 2012)— Silver Cross Hospital in partnership with BMI Surgery hosts a free Bariatric Support Group for individuals who have undergone weight loss surgery. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, August 30 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Silver Cross Hospital Pavilion A, Conference Center Room 1, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Bipolar Disease Support Group

Silver Cross Hospital will host a free Bipolar Disease Support Group for individuals and family members coping with bipolar disease on Tuesdays, August 14 and 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Silver Cross Hospital, Pavilion A, Conference Center 2A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Silver Cross Offers Health Screenings in August

New Lenox, IL (July 19, 2012)— Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health will offer area women a complimentary 30 minute massage or facial following a screening mammogram for patients who call before September 15 to schedule an appointment. Baseline Cardiac Risk Assessment

This screening includes measurements of total cholesterol including HDL and LDL levels, blood glucose level, triglyceride level, blood pressure and body fat; 12-lead EKG, health and lifestyle evaluation, and a personal phone consultation with a registered cardiac nurse to review results and answer questions. A 12-hour fast is required. Screening held at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Blvd, New Lenox; Silver Cross Health Center in Homer Glen at 12701 W. 143rd St.; and Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health, 1870 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.  Cost is $40. Silver Cross Offers Health Education Classes in August

New Lenox, IL (July 19, 2012)— Silver Cross Hospital provides an AHA Healthcare Provider CPR Class for LPNs, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, and CNAs. This class teaches one and two person, infant, child and adult CPR as well as rescue from choking. The class will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, Pavilion A, Conference Center Room 2A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. AHA Heartsaver First Aid Class

Silver Cross will offer the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid course Friday, August 3 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital; Pavilion A, Conference Center Room 1A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Participants will learn how to care for cuts, scrapes, bruise, burns, how to control bleeding, how to minimize the effects of shock, how to treat injuries to bones, muscles and joints: and caring for sudden illness including poison and heat and cold emergencies. This class is required for staff of day care homes and centers. Those who need CPR certification should also take HeartSaver CPR.
