Joliet, IL (Nov. 11, 2010)— Menopause is a normal stage in a woman's life and usually occurs between the ages of 45-55. It is a turning point for women, and although it is not a disease, it can make a large impact on a woman’s wellbeing. As menopause nears, the ovaries gradually produce less estrogen (a female hormone), causing changes in the menstrual cycle and other physical changes. It can be physically uncomfortable when dealing with side effects such as hot flashes and night sweats and can also trigger a number of health risks such as heart disease and osteoporosis.

Joliet, IL (Nov. 10, 2010)—The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) honored marketing, public relations and communications professionals from across the state at its 2010 Annual Conference and Pinnacle Awards Presentation Nov. 8 and 9 at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica. Silver Cross received nine Pinnacle Awards including Best of Show for the hospital’s refreshed logo design.

Joliet, IL (November 5, 2010)— Thinking of others comes naturally for three area children as they decided to make items and sell them at community events in order to buy Band-Aids to help care for pediatric patients at Silver Cross Hospital.
