Silver Cross Hospital’s New Procedural Care Unit opening Feb. 26, 2012

Design will streamline care for surgical patients/families

Joliet, IL (Jan. 2, 2011)—One  of the single most exciting enhancements to the new Silver Cross Hospital opening Feb. 26 at I-355 and Route 6 in New Lenox  is the consolidation of surgery, endoscopy and interventional cardiology and radiology procedures into one integrated area—the Procedural Care Unit (PCU).   Located on the second floor of the replacement hospital, each of these areas is conveniently adjacent to the PCU Family Lounge and also many private pre/post procedural rooms.  The PCU has been designed for flexibility, operational efficiencies, and advanced technology.

Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health hosts an evening of mammograms, massages, and treats 

Joliet, IL (Sept. 6 2011) —Between meetings, playgroups, and daily errands, Christine Celovsky of Lockport put aside her own needs. As a full-time working mother, she knew she needed to get her annual mammogram, but she just did not know when she could make time for one. As fate would have it, she stumbled across the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health blog site, and learned they were hosting a Ladies Only Mammogram party.

Silver Cross Hospital Offers Tips to Celebrate Holiday Safely

New Lenox, IL (November 17, 2014)— Thanksgiving is a holiday that awakes our senses -  from the brisk autumn wind that blows against our faces as we pass through the doorway of our loved ones home to the herb-filled turkey aroma that engulfs the entire dwelling.  Unfortunately, many families end up smelling smoke and burnt cinders since Thanksgiving is the leading day of the year for home fires according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Silver Cross Hospital offers safety tips and what to do in case an accident occurs.

Diabetes Management

Dr. Babak Pazooki, endocrinologist, will help patients learn to manage their diabetes at the Silver Cross Diabetes Center’s annual Diabetes Fest on Saturday, Nov. 8. This free event will be held from 8 a.m. to Noon on the Silver Cross Hospital Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Dr. Pazooki’s presentation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a healthy cooking demonstration from 10:30 to Noon. There will also be exhibits, blood glucose and blood pressure screenings, and participants can speak with experts regarding medications, foot and eye care.
