Silver Cross Community Benefit more than $48 Million in FY 2013
New Lenox, IL (April 16, 2014)— Silver Cross Hospital’s Community Benefit totaled over $48 million in community benefit in fiscal year (FY) 2013 (October 1, 2012-September 30, 2013). Included in the hospital’s Community Benefit was over $8.8 million in charity care (at cost) in which Silver Cross does not expect payment from patients. An additional $31 million in uncompensated services was provided through the government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs.
