Following are suggested messages you may want to include in your letter. However, please feel
free to express your own opinion and excitement.
- The proposed location of the Silver Cross replacement hospital at the intersection of I-355 and U.S.
Route 6 will allow Silver Cross Hospital to construct a state-of-the-art facility and provide the highest
quality health care to all in greater Will County.
- The replacement hospital will allow Silver Cross’s physicians and caregivers to bring the latest medical
treatments and technology right to the patient’s bedside.
- Specialists from Children’s Memorial Hospital will be available at the replacement hospital to allow the
children of Will County to be treated close to home instead of 40 miles away in Chicago.
- The new hospital will create more than 1,000 new jobs and spur economic development in the area.
- Will County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. By moving closer to the center of its
primary service area, Silver Cross Hospital will improve access to care for thousands in the region.
- Silver Cross has committed to working with local officials to ensure plenty of efficient transportation
options to the new hospital.
- The proposed replacement hospital will help Silver Cross continue to strengthen their mission of serving
every patient with the highest level of care, without regard for the patient’s ability to pay.
- Silver Cross has been a key partner in promoting health and well-being in our community and we look forward
to continuing that partnership at their new hospital.
