The proposed relocation of Silver Cross Hospital will be an important enhancement to the neonatal and pediatric services already being provided by physicians from Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Children’s Memorial and Silver Cross have enjoyed a long-standing, eleven-year partnership focused on providing outstanding, advanced pediatric care to Will County’s most acutely ill infant and children. Silver Cross Hospital’s ability to deliver outstanding care is significantly tied to their ability to maintain modern, technologically advanced facilities. We support Silver Cross Hospital’s position that the current physical plant is functionally obsolete and requires a full replacement.
The proposed hospital in New Lenox will provide state-of-the-art facilities necessary to deliver excellent care to acute neonatal and pediatric patients. The hospital’s 289 licensed beds will be replacement beds, and both the scope of services and the service area will be consistent with what is provided today at the Joliet campus. The design of the hospital will provide the healing, family-focused environment that I vital for children and their families.
It is a privilege to serve the children in Will County, and we look forward to a continued, strong partnership with Silver Cross in the future. We fish to offer Children’s Memorial Hospital’s strongest support for Silver Cross Hospital’s replacement hospital.
