For many years, it has been my privilege to support Silver Cross Hospital in their vision of providing the very best health care to every patient who comes through their doors. Today, I stand with Silver Cross as they embark on the next chapter in caring for our community—constructing a replacement hospital in New Lenox.

Thirty-one years ago my husband, Dr. Wylie Mullen, predicted that CT scans would revolutionize medicine and partnered with Silver Cross to bring the first CT scanner to an Illinois hospital outside the City of Chicago. We both spent our careers in Silver Cross’ diagnostic imaging center, and we were pleased to help create the new, state-of-the-art diagnostic center in 2000.

That same spirit of looking to the future and creating a vision for the health of all area residents still exists today and has led Silver Cross Hospital to this exciting decision to build a replacement hospital near by. I applaud their continued commitment to serving our entire community and will be happy to support them in any way as they construct the new hospital.
