Your SupportI have been a nurse Silver Cross Hospital for 40 years. During that time, Silver Cross has always been the leader in providing healthcare for the eastside of Joliet; especially those less fortunate. By building a replacement hospital, Silver Cross will be able to provide even better clinical care and service than would never be possible in our current location. In a new hospital, we could make all the rooms larger and better equipped for patient care with the latest technology that would never fit in our current rooms. Our nurses would be able to spend even more time with patients and their families at the bedside due to the close proximity foe efficiencies and other departments. Another plus would that would greatly enhance the community would be the expanded partnership with Children’s Memorial Hospital. Their services would be available right on the Silver Cross campus. Although we may physically be moving out of the neighborhood, our heart and sole will always be in Joliet. Silver Cross has been a good neighbor providing Top 100 care for over 100 years while working with the city and community. For many years, Silver Cross has supported the National Hook-up of Black Women’s Joliet Chapter providing free screenings, supplies and any thing else that we have asked for. We are currently partners in raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and diagnosis—a cause that in near and dear to my heart.
