Behavioral Health/Chemical Dependency
Enhanced Services At The New Hospital
Increased Privacy, Safety and Comfort in a New Hospital
While the Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency Programs at Silver Cross Hospital have maintained their commitment to the patient-family centered care model, the design of the new hospital included several enhancements for patients seeking behavioral health and chemical dependency services, as well as their families. The unit was designed to be therapeutic for our patients, and offer an environment that is soothing and relaxing, and conducive to therapeutic progress. We are confident the design will allow us to provide a higher quality experience to our patients and their families.
Close Proximity to Emergency Department (ED)
In the new hospital, all Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency services are conveniently located on the first floor, directly adjacent to the Emergency Department (ED). The close proximity of the ED improves the speed and ease of the admission process to the inpatient behavioral health unit while protecting patient confidentiality.
The inpatient behavioral health unit has added 6 beds, which has increased the capacity to 20 patients. With the availability of 10 private and 5 semi-private rooms, unit staff will assign patients to a room that will best meet their individual needs.
Private Entrance for Outpatient Participants and Visitors to Inpatient Unit
A private entrance to the behavioral health inpatient and outpatient programs seeks to protect patient and visitor confidentiality. Additionally, several conveniently located parking spots in front of the private entrance have been specifically designated for patients and visitors to behavioral health programs.
Enhanced Group Rooms
The outpatient treatment area now has two group therapy rooms. Each room is large enough to accommodate up 20 people in a circle format, creating a comfortable atmosphere that is conducive to intimate communication. Group rooms in both the inpatient and outpatient treatment areas have beautiful new furniture and audio/visual equipment. These new resources allow us to provide our clients with education about the behavioral, medical, and psychological aspects of their illnesses.
