Inpatient Behavioral Health Services
The Inpatient Behavioral Services unit at Silver Cross Hospital provides intensive treatment for patients who are experiencing a severe mental health disorder. Coordinated and structured treatment is provided allowing for care in a safe environment.
Services are provided by a diverse team comprised of registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, social workers and a recreational therapist under the direction of a psychiatrist.
We invite patients, families and referring treatment team members to contribute to developing the individual’s treatment plan. Family members are a vital part of our treatment approach.
Admission Criteria
- 18 years of age or older and out of high school
- Experiencing a psychiatric crisis that requires inpatient hospitalization and stabilization
- Able to participate in and benefit from the unit milieu and group therapy
- Accepted for admission by a Psychiatrist on staff at Silver Cross Hospital

Information on admission and referrals may be obtained 24 hours per day, seven days per week at (815) 740-7032. Or, please refer the patient to the Silver Cross Emergency Department for immediate evaluation for admission.
