Silver Cross is a Thomson 100 Top Hospital
Through our dedication to clinical quality, patient safety, operational efficiency and financial responsibility, we have come to be honored as a 100 Top Hospitals National Award Winner for 7 consecutive years, setting the standard for care in Joliet and Chicago's southwest suburbs.
Our approach to healthcare brings together the brightest minds in medicine. We have more than 400 physicians with over 50 areas of specialty. Further we have an impressive healthcare network featuring a 304-bed acute care hospital, 9 satellite facilities, and a combined team of 2,500 employees and volunteers.
At Silver Cross, we don’t just want to meet quality standards. We want to exceed them. We devote our time towards ongoing initiatives to keep enhancing our clinical outcomes.
As a result, Silver Cross was one of only 12 hospitals in Illinois chosen to participate in a clinical quality improvement study led by the Illinois Foundation for Quality Healthcare (IFQHC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The results of this study have been shared with other hospitals nationally - to share our best practices for elevating clinical quality.
Our MBSAQIP accredited center – Comprehensive recognizes the hospital’s continued commitment to improve processes and procedures.
Our commitment to quality continues throughout every area of care including our Level II Trauma Center, Level II Newborn Nursery, LaVerne and Dorothy Brown Cardiovascular Institute and our extensive ambulatory network that includes an array of outpatient services including dialysis — where we are the largest provider of dialysis services in Will and Grundy counties. Further, we are proud to be the resource hospital for the Will-Grundy EMS system. And, Silver Cross has the largest Managed Care Organization in the area with over 20,000 members and a PPO.
