Patients & Guests
At Silver Cross, we recognize that visits from family and friends are vital to the healing process and important to our patients during their hospital stay. Studies have shown that patients who are surrounded by loved ones during their hospitalization have a better experience in how fast and how well they heal. That's why Silver Cross offers open visiting to encourage family members and friends to visit their loved one, based on our patient’s preferences and conditions. Open visiting mean that patient visiting is allowed at any time unless there are medical reasons or personal preferences preventing it. Some specialty areas including Behavioral Health, Intensive Care, and Women and Infant Services have restrictions. Your sensitivity and cooperation to these restrictions is greatly appreciated.
While in the hospital, we ask that you and your guests be respectful of our other patients and conduct yourselves appropriately. This includes speaking quietly and avoiding unnecessary noise. Those with a cold, sore throat or other communicable illness should delay visiting until they are well. Please be sure all visiting children are accompanied by an adult who, for the child's safety and patient's healing process, maintains constant supervision during the visit.
