Inpatient Services
The Behavioral Health Unit is a 14-bed unit that provides intensive treatment for patients 18 years or older who are suffering from acute psychiatric disorders. Coordinated and structured treatment care is provided allowing for crisis stabilization in a safe environment.
Behavioral Health Services are provided by a interdisciplinary treatment team comprised of registered nurses, mental health technicians, social workers and a recreational therapist under the direction of a psychiatrist. The treatment team provides each patient with interdisciplinary assessment, treatment planning, treatment interventions, and discharge/aftercare planning.
Criteria for admission to inpatient unit:
- Must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school.
- Must be experiencing a psychiatric crisis that requires hospitalization and stabilization.
- Must be able to participate in and benefit from the unit milieu and group therapy.
- Must be accepted for admission by a psychiatrist on staff at Silver Cross Hospital.
