Silver Cross Offers Support Groups in March

Joliet, IL (February 25, 2011)— Silver Cross Hospital will host a free Bipolar Disease Support Group for individuals and family members coping with bipolar disease on Tuesdays, March 8 and 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Specialty Care Pavilion lobby located on the Silver Cross Hospital campus, 1300 Copperfield Ave., Joliet. Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.  The group meets every Wednesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Rialto Room at Silver Cross Hospital, 1200 Maple Rd., Joliet. Bariatric Surgery Support Group
Silver Cross Hospital and BMI Surgery will host a free bariatric surgery support group for individuals who have undergone any type of bariatric weight loss surgery Wednesday, March 30, from 6 to7 p.m. in the hospital’s conference center, 1200 Maple Rd. Joliet.  Led by a bariatric registered nurse, the group will discuss emotional eating. Family members welcome. Register to attend online at www.silvercross.org or call 1-888-660-HEAL (4325).

Breast Cancer Support Group
This group is for women and family members facing breast cancer. Topics covered are relevant to the cancer experience and offers practical help in coping with some of the emotional issues resulting from a cancer diagnosis. It is women supporting women! Cocaine Anonymous
Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from their addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances. There are no dues or fees for membership. This group meets on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Rialto Room at Silver Cross Hospital, 1200 Maple. Rd., Joliet. For more information, call 1-888-660-HEAL (4325).

GRASP Support Group
Silver Cross Hospital hosts the GRASP (Grief Recovery After Substance Passing) Support Group for individuals and family members coping with loss of loved ones due to substance abuse. The group will meet on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Rialto Room at Silver Cross Hospital. All participants are welcome. For more information, call 1-888-660-HEAL (4325).

Narcotics Anonymous
The Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship for those who suffer from drug addiction. It is a twelve step program designed for groups to support each other through recovery. This group meets Sundays at 9 a.m., and Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. in the Rialto Room at Silver Cross Hospital, 1200 Maple Rd., Joliet. All participants are welcome. Pulmonary Support Group
Silver Cross Hospital, will host a free Pulmonary Support Group Thursday, March 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Specialty Care Pavilion, Room, 1005, 1300 Copperfield Ave., Joliet.  This support group is for individuals with adult asthma, COPD, oxygen equipment, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis and respiratory disease.  Family members are also invited to attend.  To register to attend, call 1-888- 660-HEAL (4325) or visit www.silvercross.org.
