Silver Cross Women and Infant Services Birthing Center Help Raise Awareness at March for Babies
New Lenox, IL (May 13, 2015) — Along with several hundred families and business leaders, the Silver Cross Women and Infant Services Birthing Center employees and their families participated in the March of Dimes 3.2 mile March for Babies on May 9 at Joliet West High School. The annual March for Babies is the nation’s oldest walk fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.

New Lenox, IL (May 7, 2015)— After three years of enduring shooting pain from his hip down the outside of his leg to his ankle, Jim Langs reached his limit of trying to relieve his pain with numerous medications. “As my medication wore off, the pain became so bad that I would drag my leg as if it were “dead” in order to cope with the pain,” said the Manhattan resident. “I was so fortunate to meet Dr. Antkowiak, who got rid of my pain by performing an innovative and minimally invasive anterior hip replacement.” Dr. Tom Antkowiak performed the cutting-edge anterior hip replacement procedure on Jim’s hip at Silver Cross Hospital enabling him to have a quicker and less painful recovery.
Advisory Board Gives $40,000 to Silver Cross Hospital
New Lenox, IL (May 7, 2015)— The Advisory Board recently gave Silver Cross Hospital $40,000.This payment is part of the Advisory Board’s $125,000 pledge to help fund the purchase a new echocardiography (Echo) machine with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) probe to perform a TEE test that uses sound waves to create high-quality moving pictures of the heart and blood vessels.
