Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health Raise Awareness at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk
Along with 2,000 men and women of all ages wearing a variety of pink apparel, the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health employees and breast cancer patients and their family members participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K (3.1. mile) walk at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet on September 26, 2015.
Joliet Resident Grateful to Receive Comprehensive Breast Cancer Treatment and Lymphedema Therapy at one location on Silver Cross Hospital’s Campus
While experiencing an unusual body rash, Joliet resident Pam Alexander discovered a lump in her breast while applying lotion. She immediately scheduled a mammogram and biopsy which confirmed that she had a malignant tumor in her left breast. “I am so grateful that I acted quickly and was able to receive all of my specialized care so close to home at one location on Silver Cross Hospital’s campus in New Lenox,” said 52-year-old Pam Alexander. “As a result of the cutting-edge treatment that I received, I’m thrilled to report that I’m cancer-free for one year!”

Silver Cross Hospital’s bariatric surgery program has received national accreditation as a Comprehensive Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
