First Baby Born in Women & Infant Services Birthing Center at new Silver Cross Hospital
Joliet, IL (February 27, 2012)— When Lockport resident Corey Anderson heard the cries of her newborn son, she was so excited to become a mother and thrilled to have her baby be the first infant born at the new Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. Baby James Xavier was born at 7:17 p.m. on February 26 and weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. Baby James is the first child of Jim and Corey Anderson. He was delivered by Nicole Gress, M.D., obstetrics & gynecology physician with Partners in Obstetrics & Women's Health at 1870 Silver Cross Blvd Suite 210 in New Lenox.
Silver Cross Hospital Completes Move to New Hospital
New Lenox, IL (February 27, 2012) — After 6 years of planning, the doors of the new Silver Cross hospital are now open. The new Silver Cross Hospital, at 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard in New Lenox, accepted its first patient shortly after 7 a.m. yesterday.

Joliet, IL (February 26, 2012)— As Lincoln-Way Central graduate Danielle McBride entered through the glass double doors in the Emergency Department at the new Silver Cross Hospital at I-355 and Route 6 in New Lenox on Feb. 26, she couldn’t help but be excited to be one of the first patients to be cared for in the new hospital.
Last Baby Born in Birthing Center at Silver Cross Hospital Joliet Campus
Joliet, IL (February 26, 2012)— When Manhattan resident Melanie Haag held her newborn son, Alan Robert, in her arms she didn’t realize that his birth would be so historic, as he was the last infant born at Silver Cross Hospital’s Joliet campus. Baby Alan was delivered by Dr. John Bush at 10:05 p.m. on February 24 and weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. This is the second child for Melanie and Robert Haag for their four-year old daughter, Caelen, was also born at Silver Cross’ Joliet campus. Baby Alan joins the family of thousands of babies including his own mother, Melanie, who have been born at Silver Cross’ Joliet campus during its historic 117 years.
Ready for the Big Move: Transporting Patients to the New Silver Cross Hospital
Joliet, IL (Feb. 17, 2012)—Before the walls of the new hospital were even enclosed, Silver Cross leadership was busy planning for a safe and efficient patient move to the new campus. Over the past several months staff has been moving in equipment and becoming orientated to the new facility so that everyone is ready to provide 100 Top Care when the new Silver Cross Hospital officially opens on Sunday, Feb. 26. Beginning at 7 a.m., all patients will be moved in one day by ambulance along Route 6 from the Joliet to the New Lenox campus at I-355 and Route 6.
