Silver Cross Hospital Wins Excellence Award for Top Patient-satisfaction Ratings
Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox has been recognized for its top patient-satisfaction ratings with a 2020 Excellence Award from NRC Health. The award recognizes top-performing hospitals and health systems in overall patient-satisfaction ratings.
This year’s elite award winners all exhibit an exceptional commitment to improving the care experience, and have earned top satisfaction ratings from patients and their families. Their desire to better understand patient needs, and their aspiration to design experiences that inspire loyalty, embody the NRC Health mission to bring human understanding to healthcare.
Winners were selected from the extensive database of NRC Health hospital clients for their performance over the last four quarters. Silver Cross was selected for its first-place ranking in patient experience in the large hospitals category.

The NRC Excellence Award is one of several national awards that Silver Cross has earned over the past several months. In April, the hospital earned its 11th Straight A for Patient Safety from the Leapfrog Group; in June, the hospital was named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the U.S. by IBM/Watson Health; and in July, the hospital received top marks from U.S. News & World Report for providing superior care for patients with heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Also in July, Moody’s Investor Services upgraded Silver Cross Hospital’s rating to A3 from Baa1, reflecting Moody’s view that the hospital's consistently strong margins and liquidity will continue to improve, as shown over the last five years.
