Czerkies Properties to Receive Silver Cross Corporate Citizen Award at 34th Annual Charity Golf & Pickleball Classic
The Silver Cross Foundation is excited to announce that Czerkies Properties will be honored with the 2025 Silver Cross Corporate Citizen Award at the 34th Annual Charity Golf & Pickleball Classic, taking place on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Crystal Tree Country Club in Orland Park. This prestigious award recognizes a local business that has demonstrated meaningful leadership through corporate social responsibility programs, philanthropy, and volunteerism in the community and at Silver Cross Hospital.
“My brothers and I are humbled and honored to receive this prestigious recognition from Silver Cross Foundation,” said Craig Czerkies. “We do our best to continue the special relationship that our families have with Silver Cross Hospital that our parents began so many years ago.”
Czerkies Properties, a commercial and agricultural real estate investment and development company, owned by brothers Craig, David, and Scott Czerkies, has continued the legacy of their late father, Ed Czerkies, who founded the company in the early 2000s. Ed made several charitable gifts during his lifetime, including a transformational gift to bring the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center to Silver Cross Hospital’s new campus in 2012. The Cancer Center is located in the Carolyn J. Czerkies Pavilion, named for Ed’s wife and Craig, David and Scott’s mom. Because of the Czerkies’ generosity, over 15,000 patients have received lifesaving cancer treatment close to home.
"Ed’s family has carried on his philanthropic legacy serving on the Silver Cross Foundation Board, raising valuable funds for Will County’s only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, starting up our Pickleball Championship raising $10,000 in its inaugural year, and serving on our Silver Social and Fall Fiesta committees," said Craig Lyons, Silver Cross Foundation Board of Directors Chairman.
In addition to supporting Silver Cross, Czerkies Properties has donated to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet, Habitat for Humanity, Indian Prairie Educational Foundation, Joliet Catholic Academy, Rialto Square Theater, Cathedral of St. Raymond, Holy Family Parish, and countless others.
