OR of the Future Campaign Update: Advanced Surgical Care Now in Action

OR of the Future
The newly renovated operating room is now fully operational, featuring advanced surgical technology, improved functionality, and a modernized space that supports high-quality care for patients and surgical teams alike.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Silver Cross Hospital Foundation's OR of the Future Campaign is already making a meaningful difference for patients and clinical teams.

To date, more than $2.7 million has been raised toward the project's $8.5 million cost, helping to fund the comprehensive renovation and modernization of Silver Cross operating rooms. We are pleased to share that the renovation project is now complete, and the upgraded operating rooms are actively being used to care for patients every day.

The response from surgeons and staff has been overwhelmingly positive.

Among the most appreciated enhancements are the new LED surgical lighting systems and advanced 4K cameras and monitors. Surgeons report that LED lighting generates significantly less heat than the previous system, making longer procedures more comfortable, particularly when wearing lead aprons.

The new 4K technology has received equally enthusiastic praise. Improved image quality, detail, and clarity allow surgeons to visualize anatomy more effectively, supporting enhanced decision-making and helping deliver the highest quality patient care.

Physicians have also expressed appreciation for Silver Cross's investment in keeping its operating rooms current and equipping care teams with leading-edge technology. These upgrades support greater efficiency, improved visualization, enhanced patient safety, and an exceptional surgical experience for both patients and providers.

While the renovation is complete and many of the operating rooms are already benefiting patients, philanthropic support is more important than ever for community hospitals like Silver Cross. Rising healthcare costs and rapidly advancing medical technology continue to create challenges for hospitals nationwide. Donor support helps ensure Silver Cross can make strategic investments that enhance patient care, improve outcomes, and keep advanced surgical services close to home.

Help Us Finish Strong

The OR of the Future Campaign has raised more than $2.7 million, but additional support is needed to help offset the $8.5 million investment made by Silver Cross Hospital.

There is still time to be part of this historic initiative. Commemorative signage opportunities remain available for gifts of $10,000 or more, offering donors a lasting way to recognize their commitment to advancing healthcare in our community. For added flexibility, pledges may be fulfilled through September 30, 2028.

Later this year, the Foundation will host an official grand opening celebration and donor tours, providing supporters with an opportunity to see firsthand how their generosity is transforming surgical care at Silver Cross.
