Women's Health Rehabilitation Program
The Women’s Health Rehabilitation Program provides outpatient physical therapy services for the specific health needs of women. The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab at Silver Cross offers innovative treatments and therapies, helping women regain their well-being and once again enjoy active, satisfying lives. Our care focuses on pregnancy/post-partum, pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, pelvic pain, and breast cancer rehabilitation. We also pay special attention to particular groups of women like adolescents, female athletes, pre/post menopausal and women with complex conditions.
The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) has been ranked the #1 Rehabilitation Hospital in America by U.S. News & World Report every year since 1991. The same specialized care that has earned Shirley Ryan AbilityLab its pre-eminent reputation in advancing human ability is available at Silver Cross.
Shirley Ryan AbilityLab at Silver Cross Care is a Collaborative Effort
When you start your care with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab at Silver Cross, a therapist with advanced training in women’s health rehabilitation conducts the initial evaluation. This comprehensive exam includes an assessment of the individual’s posture, range of motion, muscles, nerves, joints, balance, coordination and motor control. Further diagnostic tests are recommended if necessary. The therapist then creates a custom treatment plan designed to strengthen muscles, improve musculoskeletal function and restore the ability to perform activities of daily living and leisure.
