Dr. Chintan Sampat is a board-certified spinal surgeon with training in orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery. He treats a wide variety of conditions of the back and neck, using both conservative measures and surgery when necessary.
Dr. Sampat is highly trained in minimally invasive surgery, as well as state-of-the-art-techniques such as robotic-assisted spine surgery. In fact, in 2018, he performed the first robotic spine surgery using the Globus Excelsius GPS system for the Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital. The technology allows for more accurate spinal fusion procedures, as well as a faster and easier recovery.
Dr. Sampat’s training began at Northwestern University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He then earned his medical degree from Finch University/The Chicago Medical School in 2003, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Sampat completed his training with a year of fellowship in Neurosurgical and Orthopedic Spinal Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He joined Parkview Orthopaedic Group in 2009.
Dr. Sampat has been involved in extensive research on spinal surgery, has lectured at many professional conferences, and has co-authored several textbook chapters about issues related to the spine.
