Dr. Lai received his internal medicine residency training at the Christ Hospital Program, University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his medical degree from Fudan University Medical School (Shanghai First Medical College), a leading medical school in Shanghai, China. He was trained as a Research Fellow at Harvard University Cardiovascular Laboratory. He is a member of American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association.
Dr. Lai specializes in Internal Medicine, certified by American Board of Internal Medicine. His special interests are diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, high cholesterol, arthritis. He sees a large volume of patients with Type 2 diabetes and complicated medical issues.
Dr. Lai is a strong patient advocate, placing the patient’s interest first. He provides patient-centered care based on scientific clinical evidences.
He has been in practice since 2000 in Chicago suburban areas. He values and enjoys the long-term doctor-patient relationship, helping his patients to achieve the long and healthy life. He is honored to be entrusted by generations of families for their care.
Dr. Lai is enthusiastic runner and avid fine art painter. He speaks English and Mandarin.
