We wanted to share the news that Dr. Refat Baridi will be departing our oncology practice in Orland Park, effective December 31, 2025. Dr. Baridi and his team of Advanced Practice Providers have provided excellent cancer care in the southwest suburbs for decades, most recently at our Orland Park Medical Pavilion. We wish Dr. Baridi the very best as he moves on to the next chapter in his life.
At this time, we’re pleased to announce we’re partnering with the University of Chicago Medicine to continue medical cancer care and infusion services at our Orland Medical Pavilion starting in January 2026.
Silver Cross has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with UChicago Medicine on our New Lenox campus at the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross, and we’re excited about expanding this relationship at our Orland Medical Pavilion. UChicago Medicine’s cancer program is nationally renowned and one of only two NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in Illinois. In fact, it’s the top-ranked cancer program in Illinois according to the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings.
We’re also pleased to share that many staff members you’ve come to know will continue in their current roles once the new program launches!
Creating a UChicago Medicine Cancer Center within the current space in Orland Park is an exciting step forward for our patients – bringing academic medicine much closer to home. You’ll have improved access to clinical research trials, social work, financial counseling, and many other services that contribute to a comprehensive cancer care experience.
Dr. Baridi is fully committed to providing a seamless transition of your cancer care to the UChicago Medicine team. There’s significant activity and planning around this transition, so you may see physical work being done on the space beginning in the next few weeks. We’ll be in touch with patients as we plan for scheduling new appointments and transitioning at year’s end.
