Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery
You can count on The Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital to have you feeling better in no time. Home to some of the most highly skilled surgeons in the United States, we perform more robotic-assisted surgeries – including hysterectomies and complex procedures to treat colorectal cancer – than anyone else in the Chicago area.
Chicago's Largest Robotic Program
With four (4) da Vinci® XI® surgical robots – we perform the most robotic surgical procedures, hysterectomies, and colorectal procedures in the Chicago metropolitan area. And, we are one of the Top 3 robotic surgery centers in the Midwest with more than 12,000 procedures to date!
The Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital was the only facility in the Will County to offer Mako™ robotic-arm assisted surgery for partial knee and total hip replacement for adults living with early to mid-stage osteoarthritis. This new technology helps provide more accurate placement and alignment of a patient’s implant.
And in 2022, we introduced the Ion robotic bronchoscopy system that's able to diagnose lung cancer sooner and with greater accuracy than ever before.
Best of all, the Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital is just 45 minutes southwest of Chicago, with easy access to Midway and O’Hare airports.
Renowned Surgeons. Close to Home.
Surgeons from around the world train with us. Our vast experience means better outcomes for you such as less pain and risk of complications, a shorter hospital stay, and virtually scar-less results.
We are performing complex procedures safely and with more precision than ever before. This means that our patients experience less pain and scarring, a shorter hospital stay, and recover quickly.
The Institute is also home to some of the most experienced robotic surgeons in the region and nation. Several are pioneers in their field mentoring other surgeons across the 50 states and around the world in advanced colorectal, gynecological, and hernia repair and gallbladder removal robotic techniques. Others help design the implants used during joint replacement surgery.
These experts even perform complex procedures such as Single-Site® Hysterectomy and Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) through one tiny incision in the belly button for virtually scar-less results.
The Institute’s comprehensive team of robotic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and technicians have safely performed over 12,000 robotic procedures with complications, conversion to open technique, and surgical site infection rates well below the national average. And, our patients consistently rate us in the Top 10% in the nation for patient satisfaction.
