History Made on June 5th: 16 Babies Delivered in One Day
When we say we’re the “baby hospital” of Will County, we’ve got the numbers to back it up. In our last fiscal year, that equated to 3,017 little bundles of joy.
Those numbers reached record-breaking proportions Saturday, June 5, when 16 beautiful babies made their grand entrance at Silver Cross in a single day!
That’s double our daily average of 8 deliveries, so the 3rd floor was hopping for 24+ hours.
According to Director of Women and Infant Services Kristina Salcedo, MSN RNC-OB, and OB Shift Coordinator Linda Cantore, RN, it was all hands on deck as the entire team pulled together helping to deliver 16 healthy babies – and our trademark Silver Cross Experience to each and every one.
Some nurses arrived early for their shifts, others stayed late, and ALL mother/baby staff pitched in to keep pace with 30 full rooms, a full nursery and overflow in the special care nursery. They even helped Environmental Services strip beds and clean rooms.
A special thanks to this #inspiring team that helps bring tiny miracles into the world each and every day.
